A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois, Inc., now has an Off-Road Committee and there are already Chapters who have Coordinators, Jasper Co., ABATE is one of these Chapters.

On the State Level there is a Draft already out about what the Off-Road Committee is going to Propose to do.
In this Draft, some of the goals are as follows:
1. Promote ABATE of Illinois to the off road community as an advocate of off road recreation, and promote membership in ABATE of Illinois.
2. Open and maintain lines of communication between off road riders and ABATE of Illinois, to establish credibility as an advocacy group, maintain a rapport with off road riders so ABATE of Illinois can work with them to further the cause of off road riding.
3. Help create off road riding opportunities statewide for riders of all skill levels.
4. Provide info and assistance to groups and/or individuals seeking Illinois DNR (Dept of Natural Resorces) grants to provide off road riding areas.
5. Bring the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MRF) off road riding course to Illinois. Explore ways to fund the MSF off road riding course and investigate the feasability of ABATE of Illinois becoming the primary sponsor of the MSF off road riding course in Illinois.
6. Establish and maintain lines of communication between the off road riding community and the general public.
7. Establish and maintain positive public relations between the off road riders and the media, both elecronic and print.
8. Promote the family fan aspect of off road riding. Thus, promoting motorcycling in general.
9. Promote and maintain a spirit of coopreation between different off highway trail user groups. (i.e., 4 wheelers, snowmobilers, equestarians ((Horseback riders)), bicyclists and motorcycle/ATV riders).
10. To report on a regular basis to the State Board of Directors of ABATE of Illinois our findings, recomendations and progress on these and other issues pertaining to off road riding.

As I have stated above, this is only a DRAFT. I will go as far to say that some things will be changed to benefit the promotion of ABATE of Illinois as an advocate of Off Road Riding.
